History
Schmidgall Family Farms started in Central Illinois around the mid-1940s by Raymond and Myrtle Schmidgall and has been in the family ever since. Faith and Family were and still are at the core of this farming operation. Without these two things they would not be where they are today. The farm is now run by Ray and Myrtle's youngest son, Les Schmidgall, who has been farming since 15 years of age after Raymond passed away. Since then, Schmidgall Family Farms has grown and expanded into a multi-faceted business including a grain farm and cattle operation.
Our slogan is "Two Generations Farming for the Future." We are a Father/Son farming operation and we strive to build a bright and prosperous future for all parties involved.
Les & Angie Schmidgall
Les and Angie have three children Nicole (40), Jacob (38), and Britney (34), and have been married for over 30 years. Les and Angie were raised in the Tazewell County area. Les began farming with his mother at the age of fifteen. The farm has been in the family for over 70 years. Les currently sits on the board for the Tazewell county NRCS. The experience that Les has gained throughout the years has become the strong foundation for what Schmidgall Family Farms is today.
Jacob, Brittney, Harper, Brecklyn, Kasen, & Kyler Schmidgall
Jacob and Brittney have been married since June of 2012 and have four children: Harper (2013), Brecklyn (2016), Kasen (2018), and Kyler (2024). Jacob graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Jacob then worked for Precision Planting in Tremont, Illinois before joining the farm full time in 2011. Jacob brings knowledge of new farming technology and practices to Schmidgall Family Farms. Jacob also sits on the board at Ag-land FS. Brittney graduated from ISU with her degree in Biology and worked as a vet tech right out of college. She now stays home full time to raise the kids.
Brent, Nicole, Kynlee, Landry, Brody, & Paisley Sellers
Brent and Nicole have been married since March of 2012 and have four children: Kynlee (2013), Landry (2015), Brody (2017) and Paisley (2020) . Nicole graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southeastern University. She now works from home for Florida Dental Implants which is a company out of Lakeland, FL. Brent graduated from Warner Southern College and is now working at State Farm full time in Bloomington, IL.
Wade, Britney, Lenni, & Crue
Wade and Britney have been married since May of 2020. Britney graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Britney is the youngest of the family and is now working full-time as a social media manager. Wade graduated in 2015 from ISU and has since worked at his family's furniture store (Sauder Furniture). They have two children; Lenni (2020) and Crue (2024).
